about
Make A Halo's self released debut single 'Serial Killer', is a grisly story about two lovers escaping from - and then exacting their vengeance upon, the dastardly clutches of the titular Serial Killer - an artist who makes 'life-like' collages from the body parts of his victims.
The song is inspired by the sense of anxiety and dread which is borderline enjoyable in films when a character is trying to make their escape and their car won't start or the door won't open etc.
lyrics
We'll shoot a road movie tonight,
We shoot our own movie tonight,
We'll shoot a road movie tonight and from this horror movie prison we'll fly
Six hundred year-old serial killer,
making art with human parts in his basement,
he uses many things like fingers and ears,
for collages of organs and eyelids -
Sells his life-like paintings for millions,
on the international black market,
with eyeball and lips on cocktail sticks his prisoners soon become exhibits but -
We're not gonna be next no no no
We're not gonna be next no no no
We're not gonna be next 'coz we know better, we passed our own test
It looks like we're trapped in his prison,
It looks like we're trapped in his prison,
It looks like we're trapped in his prison, it's a chamber of hell for each one of his victims
So when I say keep quiet, I mean it. You pick the lock, I'll knock him out with a mallet -
He's awake and now he's mad and he's coming!
Quick jump in let's get the engine running!
Let's run over the Serial Killer together
Let's run over the Serial Killer together
Let's run over the Serial Killer and release his victims and take his jewellery
Your feet are falling, your feet are falling fast
and my feet are falling, my feet are falling fast
I feel so much better tonight,
I feel so much better tonight,
I feel so much better when we ride together and bathe in the blue moon light
We ran over the Serial Killer together
We ran over the Serial Killer together
We ran over the Serial Killer together
We ran over the Serial Killer together
We ran over the Serial Killer together
We ran over the Serial Killer together
We ran over the Serial Killer and released his victims and took his jewellery
